Arnold & Frodsham, London, pocket chronometer, 16 jewels, key wind and set, gilt half plate movement with standing spring detent, free sprung cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws, and reverse fusee in an 18 karat, yellow gold, engine turned open face case with scalloped band, and Roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, gold spade and whip hands, serial #7462, 52mm, 116.8g TW, c1850.
CONDITION:
CASE: Not original to movement, fits well, a nice recase; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Engine turning worn smooth; Case with hard solder repairs, some overflow at base of back cover; Dome replaced; Bow repaired; Dirty; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Hour with minor bend, otherwise very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate on plate; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
